Registered Veterinary Technician
Providing quality care for your companions.
Established in 1975, Bayville Veterinary Hospital has served pet owners in Bayville and the surrounding area for over 40 years. Our main focus is to work with you to provide quality veterinary care for your pet at the best value possible. This has helped foster a strong relationship between our hospital and the community which results in our pets staying as healthy and as happy as possible
Our veterinarians, Drs. Glenn and Brianna McDowell and their team offer their wealth of experience in veterinary care for both healthy animals, in order to keep them that way, and for sick animals who need treatment with care and compassion. We know you care about your animal's well-being and we promise that you can trust they're in good hands.
The staff at Bayville Veterinary Hospital have always been very caring with my greyhound Boris throughout his life and they are the best value vets in the area
Receptionist and Veterinary Assistant
Karen is a Certified Veterinary Technician and joined the Bayville Veterinary Hospital team in 1986. (That's not a typo - that's '86.) She graduated from Ocean County College and went on to graduate from the University of Maine at Orono with a Veterinary Technician degree. Her care for animals started at home when there were always multiple pets in the house. At the moment she has three cats (Kippy, Beetle, and Drake.) She is a member of the New Jersey Veterinary Technician and Assistants and the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America which both encourage continuing education. When she's not at work, she volunteers her time with her nephews' scout troop in Bayville. She has become a gamer, thanks to her nephews, but will also get out to play some mini-golf on occasion.
Ruth is the Office Manager and has worked here since 1990, having been a client since 1984! She was married for 37 years to her best friend, Gregory and has three children, five grandkids and four step-grandkids. She currently has three poodles - Rubie, Garnyt and Opal, as well as too many cats to mention. As a member of Animal Birth Control, in her spare time she helps out with feeding and raising the orphaned kittens that are rescued.

She can be found assisting clients in reception as well assisting the veterinarian and technicians in the exam and treatment areas of the hospital. She is currently pursuing a degree in veterinary technology in hopes of one day becoming a certified veterinary technician. When Tara is not tending to sick animals at the Bayville Veterinary Hospital, she enjoys watching football, playing tennis, and practicing her archery skills.
